Annora Cheng, L.Ac., MSTOM
Annora is a certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture and herbs) by the National Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a New York state licensed acupuncturist. Additionally she is certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique. She graduated valedictorian and holds a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where she interned at the Initiative for Women with Disabilities (Hospital for Joint Disease at NYU Langone Medical Center). In 2013 she completed Jeffrey Yuen’s one year Advanced Acupuncture program which focuses on practicing Chinese Medicine as presented in the classic texts and in the tradition of the Jade Purity lineage. Since opening her practice she has successfully treated musculoskeletal pain, stress, anxiety, insomnia and fatigue. Her area of interest include using Oriental Medicine in the treatment of chronic and autoimmune conditions as well addressing emotional blocks. She is also CPR certified and a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York (2012-2016).
In addition to being a licensed acupuncturist, Annora is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor, pilates mat instructor, and holds a level 2 reiki attunement. Annora has been a lifelong proponent of good health and ease in movement and respect for the body. She started ballet studies at the age of 7, and her love of movement evolved into yoga studies. She has taught yoga in New York City at New York Yoga, HBO, NBC, and Normandie Court, and has taught classes at HighLine Dance, Ballet Academy East, Aerospace Fitness, Top of The One, and Windsor Court. She has taught at many levels, from beginner to advanced, as well as pre-natal yoga.
Annora has and continues to teach Vinyasa yoga in the Manhattan area for the last 12 years. Her classes focus on cultivating a more subtle connection to the physical body by bringing an awareness to the connection of breath and body. In order to complement her work as a yoga instructor, in 2009 Annora left the corporate world to deepen her studies of the energetic body by pursuing a degree in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine on a full-time basis.
